Traditionally Naan is made in a Tandoor – a super hot clay oven shaped like a small well with extremely hot walls and hot air circulating through the middle.
The secret to making restaurant style naan bread at home is to replicate the tandoor environment as closely as possible.
Here are the steps for making delicious, chewy Naan at home:
1. Make the dough using Spicecraft Naan Bread Mix
2. Rest the dough then shape into balls
3. Roll out the naans, add optional toppings and stuffings.
4. Cook the Naans on a really hot surface like a fry pan, cast iron skillet, BBQ or in your kitchen oven.
We purchased the Gourmet Butter Chicken Meal Kit and Naan Bread mix from the Easter Show. The staff here were so beautiful and friendly and took the time to explain the different kits and benefits of each.
I never thought that we could produce a restaurant quality meal but we did with this kit!!
The Naan Bread mix was also easy to use, and tasted just like store bought.
The whole thing is really easy to follow and gave us the confidence to prepare a delicious and special mother’s day meal.
Absolutely the best butter chicken, biryani and naan I’ve made at home!
